Beef : 1 Kg
Shallots (small onions) : 1 Cup
Garlic : 6 Cloves
Ginger : 1 inch piece
Tomato : 2 medium size
Green Chilli : 3
Red chilli powder : 2 Tablespoon
Turmeric Powder : 1/2 Teaspoon
Coriander Powder : 2 Tablespoon
Ground Black Pepper : 1 Teaspoon
Cardamom : 5
Cinnamon : 1.5 inch piece, broken
Cloves : 5
Curry Leaves : 1 Sprig
Oil : 4 Tablespoon
Salt to taste
Coriander Leaves : A handful to garnish
Cut the beef into cube size pieces
Peel and chop the onions, ginger and garlic and keep aside.
Chop the tomatoes and keep aside.
Heat the oil in saucepan.
Add the cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, curry leaves and chopped onions. Saute until the onions are lightly brown.
Add the ginger and garlic and saute again for a minute in low flame.
Now add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and pepper powder and fry for another minute.
Add the chopped tomatoes and slit green chilli and salt.
Cover and cook in low flame for two to three minutes.
Add the cubed beef pieces and half cup of water and mix well.
Cover and cook in medium flame until the beef is properly cooked.
Remove from heat and garnish with corainder leaves.
