Chapati flour (Wheat flour) - 3 Cups
A pinch of salt to taste
Oil to fry and to roll out the dough
Rolling pin and board
Preparing the dough...
Take the flour in a large bowl and slowly add about 1 cup warm water and salt to the flour
Mix the flour and water well using your hands and knead until the dough is smooth.
Cover the the dough with a wet towel so that the dough does not gets too dry. Leave for 1 hour. (If cant wait long, you could roll and fry the puris immediately)
Knead again a little and make lemon size small balls of the dough.
Spread some flour on a chapati board (rolling board) and roll the dough balls in to around 5 inch circles of medium thickness.
Repeat it for all the dough balls
Heat oil in a shallow bottom pan and deep fry the rolled puris until golden yellow.
Place the fried puris in paper towels to drain any extra oil
Serve with potato masala or potato podimas.
