Liver Varattiyathu Recipe

Ingredients 1. Liver – 250 gm, chopped
2. Onion - 2, finely chopped
3. Green chili - 2
4. Tomato - 1, finely chopped
5. Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
6. Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
7. Pepper powder – 1 tsp
8. Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
9. Water - as required
10. Salt - to taste
11. Coriander powder – 1 tsp
12. Curry leaves – a few
13. Oil – 2 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. (don’t close its lid)
2. Sauté onion in it till it turns light brown in colour.
3. Now add the tomato, green chili, ginger-garlic paste, and sauté again.
4. Then add the pepper powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, salt, water, coriander powder, curry leaves and the cleaned and chopped liver pieces to it and stir all the ingredients well.
5. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook the curry in medium flame till the first five whistles of the pressure cooker.
6. Close the flame and let it be with closed lid for 5-10 min.
7. Then open the lid carefully and serve it hot with pathiri or chapatti or anything according to your taste.
