Chemmeen Ularthiyathu (Shrimp fry) Recipe

Ingredients Shrimps - 500 gm
Shallots (small onions) - 5
Onion - 1 (sliced)
Ginger - 1 inch (Chopped)
Garlic - 4 cloves (Chopped)
Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Coconut slices - 1/4 cup
Vinegar - 2 tsp
Salt - as needed
Curry leaves - as needed
Oil to fry
Cooking InstructionsHeat some oil in a pan and sauté the onions, ginger and garlic
Add chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder and sauté again
Add salt vinegar and the shrimp
Add just enough water and cook in medium low flame until shrimp is cooked and sauce is almost dry.
In a pan, heat oil and saute sliced onion till it is almost brown in color.
Add the cooked shrimp, curry leaves and coconut into this and fry till oil separates and the dish is almost dry.
