Avoli(Pomfret) or Karimeen(Pearl Spots) - 2
Small onion - 5
Red chilly - 1 1/2 tbsp
Pepper powder - 1/2 tbsp
Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Ginger - 1" piece
Garlic - 3 cloves
Curry Leaves - a few
Banana Leaf - to wrap the fish
Salt as per tast
Wash and clean the fish and make slits on both sides.
Make a course paste of onions, curry leaves, ginger, garlic, lemon juice, chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt.
Marinate the fish with this ground paste on both sides leave rest for an hour.
Wrap the fish in banana leaves or tin foil.
You can now cook the fish in a grill or barbeque for about 20 to 30 minutes depending on the size of the fish..
Garnish with lemon slices and thinly cut onions.
