Diced lamb (or mutton) - 500g
Onion - 1 (big)
Ginger paste - 1 Tsp
Garlic paste - 1 Tsp
Tomato - 1
Turmeric powder - 1/4 Tsp
Coriander powder - 1 Tbsp
Chilly powder - 2 Tsp
Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
Cloves - 5
Green cardamom - 2
Coriander leaves - a bunch
Oil - 3 Tbsp
Salt to taste
Water - 1.5 to 2 cups (depends on how thick you want the gravy)
Heat oil in pan. Add the whole spices (cinnamon, cloves, cardamom). Saute for 3 minutes.
Add the chopped onions and saute till they are soft.
Add the ginger paste and garlic paste. Sauté for another 2 minutes.
Add the turmeric powder and coriander powder.
Mix well and add in the chilly powder and chopped tomatoes.
Add the diced lamb, warm water and salt.
Cover with a lid and cook in medium heat until lamb is almost cooked.
Add in the coriander leaves. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Serve hot with rice or nan.
