Murukku with Kadala Mavu Recipe

Ingredients Rice flour - 3 cups
Gram flour (Kadala Mavu) - 1 cup
Water - 2 cups
Asafoetida (kayam) - 3 pinches
Jeerakappodi (Jeera powder) - 1/2 Tsp
Chilli Powder - 1 Tsp
Omam or kalonji or nigella seeds - 1/2 Tsp
Butter - 3 Tsp
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
Cooking InstructionsMix the rice flour, gram flour, asafoetida, jeera powder, chilli powder, nigella seeds, butter, salt and water to form a thick paste. Fill this in an idiyappam maker with star hole. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Using the idiyappam maker, push the flour mix out into hot oil in desired shape. Fry until golden brown. Remove from oil and store in an airtight container. Serve as a snack with tea or coffee.
