Potato Bonda Recipe

Potato - 3 (assuming medium size)
Chopped Onion - 1/2 cup
Green chilly - 3
Chopped ginger - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Kadala Mavu (Gram Flour) - 1 cup
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - as required
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut into pieces. Boil the poatatoes adding salt and mash and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. Add chopped onions and saute. Add chopped ginger, turmeric and curry leaves. Add the mashed potatoes and saute. Remove from fire and keep aside for cooling. Meanwhile make a thick batter of gram flour in water adding red chilli powder and salt to taste. When the potato mix becomes cold, make in to small balls. Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is hot, dip the potato balls in gram flour mix and deep fry. Serve with hot tea.
