IngredientsCherupayar(Moong Dal or Green Grams) – 1 cup
Jaggery – 1/2 cup
Coconut – 1 cup
Plain Flour – 1 cup
Gram Flour – 1 cup
Cardamom crushed - 5
Salt - a pinch
Water
Oil
Cooking InstructionsCook cherupayar in 2 cups water with a pinch of salt till water is completely drained off. Melt the Jaggery by adding 1/4 cup water. When it melts add coconut & cardamom. Add the cooked cherupayar to this mix & combine. Mix well. Make sure that the mix is dry. When it is cooled make small balls with the mix. Combine plain flour and gram flour. Add little water to this & make a thick batter. Make sure the batter is thick, so that you get a uniform layer of mavu over the cherupayar balls. Dip each of the balls in the batter & deep fry.
