Kadala Curry Recipe

Ingredients Kadala (Chick Peas) - 2 Cups
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
Garlic - 2
Green chilli - 2
Curry leaves - a few
Chilli powder - 1 Tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 Tsp
Grated Coconut - 1 cup
Oil - 4 Tbsp
Cooking InstructionsSoak the kadala over night and cook that in a pressure cooker with little salt. Drain the water and keep aside.
Grind together grated coconut, ginger, garlic, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala with little bit of water and keep aside.
Now heat the oil in a pan.
Splutter the mustard seeds and add the chopped onions.
Saute the onions until light brown and then add the ground paste.
Saute for a two minutes and add one cup of water.
Add the chopped tomatoes, few curry leaves and slit green chilli.
Cover and bring it boil.
Add the cooked chick peas simmer for five minutes and turn off.
Kadala curry is now ready, serve hot with puttu.
