IngredientsKappa (Tapioca or Casava) - 1/2 kg
Shallots (Small Onions) - 5
Whole red chillies (Chuvappu mulaku) - 3
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil
Cooking InstructionsWash and clean the kappa. Cut into pieces. Boil Kappa in water. Drain the water after 5 mins of boiling. Add water again and cook with added salt. Cook till tapioca is tender and water has drained off.
Heat oil in a pan. Splutter the mustard seeds. Add onions,curry leaves and red chillies and saute till onion turns brown.Mix this seasoning with the tapioca. Serve hot with fish curry or any curry of you choice.
(You can make a tamarind, green chilly, small onion mix in a little oil and water called 'mulakum puliyum njavidiyathu' which goes well with this)
