Mutter Paneer (Green Peas and Cottage Cheese Curry) Recipe

Green Peas - 250 gm
Paneer (cubes) - 250 gm
Onion - 1 (chopped)
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Cinnamon - 1" stick
Cloves - 4
Cardamom - 2
Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Tomatoes - 2
Chopped ginger - 1 tsp
Chopped garlic - 1 tsp
Coriander leaves - a bunch
Green chillies - 2 (chopped)
Salt to taste
Oil or ghee - 4 tbsp or as per your taste
Gring together onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic and green chillies to a fine paste and keep aside. Fry the paneer pieces lightly in oil till golden brown. Remove from heat and keep aside. In the same oil add the cumins, cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon and saute for about 3 minutes. Add the ground paste to it. Saute for another five minutes till the raw smell of ginger and garlic goes away. Add the turmeric powder, coriander powder, chiili powder and pepper powder and continue sauting for another 3 minutes. Add salt, green peas and water as required and cook with closed lid till the green peas are tender. Now add the fried paneer pieces. Garnish with coriander leaves. Cook with closed lid for another 3 minutes. Serve hot with chappathi or naan.
