Palak Dal Recipe

Ingredients 1) Toor dal - cup
2) Spinach leaves 2 Cups
3) Onion 1 chopped
4) Tomato 1 chopped
5) Green chili 2
6) Garlic 4-5 pods
7) Turmeric powder tea spoon
8) Red chili powder 1 tea spoon
9) Salt to taste
10) Water cup
11) Coconut milk (thick) 2 table spoon
12) Mustard 1 tea spoon
13) Oil 2 tea spoon
14) Curry leaves - few
Cooking Instructions1. Clean and chop the spinach leaves.
2. In a pressure cooker add the toor dal, spinach, onion, tomato, green chilli, garlic, turmeric powder , red chilli powder, salt and water.
3. Cook for 5-6 whistles.,
4. Release the pressure of the cooker and open the lid, then add coconut milk to it and mix well.
5. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard and curry leaves to it. When it splutters add the palak curry into it and bring to boil and turn off the heat.

Palak Dal curry is a traditional Karnatik Brahmin dish and usually served with rice and roti.
